Kailash Mansarovar Tour via Kerung: A Complete Pilgrimage Guide

Image
Spiritual Journey on the Kerung Route Kailash Mansarovar Trek through Kerung is probably one of the best-known pilgrimage routes that lead pilgrims to the holy Mountain and Lake in one go. This journey traverses Nepal and reaches Tibet via the Kerung border, which offers a gradual elevation gain, allowing travelers to gradually adjust to the harsh conditions of high altitude. Many pilgrims choose this route to reach their destination because it offers a great blend of comfort, the amazing nature of the Himalaya, and spirituality. Manasrovar Kailash has been an amazing spiritual source for countless people for centuries. It is worshipped by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, etc., together with a few other groups like followers of the Bon religion, which is now a minority. One of those reasons is that Manas Kailash, together with the sacred, almost glassy water of Lake Manas (which translates to "the thought"), makes for a pilgrimage that is very meaningful and, at the same time, o...

Experience the Magic of the Everest Base Camp Trek

Image
Trip Overview The Everest Base Camp trek covers about 130 km round trip, starting with a flight into Lukla and ending at 5,364 meters. Most trekkers need 12 to 14 days, and that includes two acclimatization days built in on purpose, not as a nice-to-have.  At Holy Kailash Tours, we've run this route for years, and the treks that go wrong are almost always the ones that rush the schedule to save two days. Travel Permit Requirements You need two permits, not one. The Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit runs about NPR 3,000 for foreign trekkers, and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entry Permit runs another NPR 2,000.  The old TIMS card is no longer required on this route since the local municipality permit replaced it, but rules do shift, so we always confirm current requirements before a group departs. Solo trekking is no longer allowed on the EBC route. You need to be with a registered guide or an organized group. • Sagarmatha National Park permit: get it in Kat...
